The distinction between this style in southern Spain and southern Portugal is very subtle and cannot be made from this image alone, making it a strong alternative.

The medinas of North African cities, particularly in Morocco (like Tétouan or Chefchaouen), share a strong architectural heritage with Andalusia. The scene, with its narrow alley, whitewashed walls, and flat roofs, would fit perfectly within a Moroccan medina. The lighting and general atmosphere are also consistent with this region, making it a very plausible candidate.

Southern Italy, particularly the Puglia region, is famous for its 'città bianche' (white cities) like Ostuni. The architecture, featuring bright white walls and a maze of narrow streets, is a very good match for the visual evidence. This style is common across the Mediterranean, and while the Iberian peninsula or North Africa might be slightly more probable based on subtle cues, Southern Italy remains a strong possibility.
