The lighting and general atmosphere are also consistent with this region, making it a very plausible candidate.

The architecture, featuring bright white walls and a maze of narrow streets, is a very good match for the visual evidence. This style is common across the Mediterranean, and while the Iberian peninsula or North Africa might be slightly more probable based on subtle cues, Southern Italy remains a strong possibility.
