The vehicles visible, particularly the white van, are common forms of transport in Nigeria. The reddish soil visible on the shoulder and the lush tropical vegetation are also typical for Southern Nigeria. The overall scene strongly suggests a major road on the outskirts of a large, hilly West African city, with Ibadan being a prime candidate.

Yaoundé is famously built on seven hills, and its topography is an excellent match for the steep embankments seen in the image. As a right-hand traffic country with a similar tropical climate and vegetation to Nigeria, it presents a strong alternative. The highways entering Yaoundé, like the N3, cut through terrain that looks very similar to the photograph. This location is a plausible alternative if the specific Nigerian visual cues are misinterpreted.
