Botswana shares a very similar climate, vegetation, and general infrastructure style with South Africa, particularly in its eastern regions. The dry, savanna-like environment with characteristic trees and roadside conditions seen in the image would be a strong match for many areas outside Gaborone or along major highways in Botswana. The lack of specific distinguishing features makes it difficult to rule out Botswana as a strong candidate.

Zimbabwe, particularly its southern and western regions around cities like Bulawayo, also features extensive dry bushveld and savanna environments that closely match the visual evidence. The type of trees, the dry ground, and the general appearance of the roadside infrastructure are consistent with what can be found in many parts of Zimbabwe. While slightly less likely than South Africa or Botswana due to subtle differences in common roadside features, it remains a strong possibility.
