Some architectural elements are shared with other Mediterranean countries like Spain. The presence of a roll-down shutter ('persiana'), a stucco exterior, and a tiled patio can be found in Spanish residential buildings. However, the style of the house number plate is a very poor match for Spain, where they are typically rectangular ceramic tiles or metal plates. This makes Spain a much less likely candidate than Italy.

Southern France also features similar modern architecture, including 'volets roulants' (roll-down shutters) and stucco-faced buildings. The general climate suggested by the vegetation would also fit. However, as with Spain, the primary piece of evidence—the blue oval house number—is not typical for France, where house numbers are usually on rectangular blue-and-white plates or other styles. Therefore, France is a low-probability location.
