The landscape is virtually indistinguishable from that found in large parts of neighboring Zambia. The Southern Province of Zambia, in particular, features the same type of Miombo and Mopane woodland, reddish soils, and rural settlement patterns. The lack of specific national identifiers makes Zambia an equally plausible candidate to Zimbabwe. The red triangular logo on the man's shirt could belong to a local company or NGO operating in the region, but it is not distinct enough for a positive identification.

Northern and eastern Botswana also share this same ecosystem. The dry savanna, Acacia trees, and soil type are consistent with this region, especially outside the more arid Kalahari areas. The overall scene fits well with a rural village setting in Botswana. This country is a strong possibility, though perhaps slightly less archetypal than Zimbabwe or Zambia for this specific combination of features.
